If you are looking for a creative, inclusive, fun and happy place: go to Bar Bario! The bar was founded by a queer BPOC woman from Amsterdam when she was only 21 (!!).
The bar has a classic Dutch cafe interior: with a window space, upstairs and downstairs seating. In the back of the bar, there is a gallery space for people who come from diverse backgrounds to showcase their artwork for free.
The first idea of the bar is that it was meant for a diverse audience to be a safe space. It grew out to be a space where differences are celebrated. Besides a bar and gallery, Bar Bario often hosts events that can range from political talks to movie nights. And besides all these: they have REALLY good cocktails.
