This spot became one of my favorites while I was still in high school, so I have been going here for a decade now. During our lunch break, the whole school would go here. Back then, you could get a sandwich for 2 euros, but inflation paid its price in the last decade and now a sandwich is around 5 euros. Still, a good deal because they make everything fresh right in front of you.
One person is in charge of baking all the bread and peaks around the corner with a hot tray of fresh buns once in a while. Two other people make all the sandwiches. There is no seating area, but the whole neighborhood buys their lunch here and goes to sit on a bench in the sun or in the wintertime, rush back to their work/house. They have many choices when it comes to sandwiches and their toppings, but I always go for their famous sandwich called 'Broodje Boljeri'. A sandwich with turkey slices, bacon, lettuce, pesto, and their secret sauce (kind of like a spiced mayo) which is AMAZING. I can taste it now while typing. Sometimes, when I am in a vegetarian mood, I take the caprese, which is also really good. So remember, if you are having a stroll through the Jordaan or are on your way to the Westerpark, get your sandwich here!
