Westerpark is 10 seconds from my home, 10 minutes from Sloterdijk station by foot and 10 minutes from Amsterdam Central station by bike or car.
During the summer it is pretty busy, especially on weekends and after working hours. But it is still fairly quiet for Amsterdam standards. You can walk, cycle, run. Use the gym equipment outside. And there are several nice spots for breakfast, lunch, dinner or just a coffee.
I am in Westerpark almost every day of the week. And I have been to all spots that it has to offer. In the morning I go for a run. In the afternoon I cycle to Bar/Kantoor for a coffee and a great lunch. And if the weather is nice (or not so nice) I just have a nice stroll around and enjoy the people, the trees, the dogs, the water and everything else.
If you'd like to know more about the different spots in and around Westerpark (and the rest of Amsterdam) please check out my other articles as well.
