Café au lait is situated very close to the historical/central square of Antwerp. The charming cocktail bar was founded 20 years ago by Herman, who was of a mixed origin. As you can probably derive from the name, this place was intended to bring together people independently of their race, color, nationality or culture. And that’s also the main reason why I love it so much. Everybody feels at home here. It’s like the Pangaea of the bars and clubs in the city.
Café au lait keeps attracting funky personalities and has adopted a multicultural style where everybody can relax and enjoy a good time. Personally I always have a blast here. People get together and there’s a very amicable vibe in general.
Besides the different cultures some real delicious liquors are mixed in here. I strongly recommend trying their exotic cocktails. Sir, you will not regret it, sir! The bartenders will skillfully prepare you delicious mixtures and they're always up for a friendly conversation.
Most weekends they host themed parties with music you won't easily find anywhere else in the city. You can enjoy themes such as 90's R&B, to Funky nights and reggae to afro-latin vibes. In other words, a great mixture of multicultural exoticism.
They also organize street food parties with international influences and rhythms. Worth dropping by and joining this expert party just to have the experience yourself.
