Hello there,
I assume you already know that Belgium has a frituur culture. We love our (Belgian) fries. So it would feel wrong not to include my regular frituur. The people working here are super duper friendly and always smiling. They have a big range of our standard frituur snacks but also some very nice vegetarian options. We tend to pick the vegetarian chicken burger (my girlfriend's favourite out of all frituurs!). Next to that the vegetarian bitterballen and the vegetarian frikandel/curryworst (depending on where in Flanders you are) special are amazing. This consists of a frikandel with ketchup and mayonaise with sprinkled pieces of white onion on top.
Even fries are made differently depending on which frituur you go to. I sadly have had many moments where they were too weak. But at Daily's they are always just cripsy enough and overall delicious. It is in the cosy neighborhood of Zurenborg, and as you might notice in my other spots, my hometown.
So if you are in the area and want a quick, greasy meal, I advise you to stop by frituur Daily's!

"Kornél" is one of my favorite cafes in Berchem, Antwerp. I love coming here to brainstorm about ideas and do some work or sitting outside with a Bernard.

The neighborhood of Zurenborg transformed around the same time I was born to just like me grow up - and at least the neighborhood - glow up.

"Bodrum Palace" is the only real Turkish restaurant in Antwerp's streets and definitely the best. Turks and I agree: the food is extremely tasty and fresh.

Made by a variety of Belgian and international artists, some look classic; others are modern and, of course, (according to Belgian tradition) some will give you a surrealistic vibe.

I recommend any of their pastries as well as their fabulous 'Green Goddess Sandwich' - guacamole, a poached egg, and salmon, what else could I ask for?

Beestenbos is an ideal pub. It has great drinks and food, on a square in the city centre yet suprisingly quiet, has live music and organises brunches.

"Poncha Bar Madeira" in Antwerp has the best poncha cocktails and some great Portuguese tapas. Great for after dinner with friends and close to the river!

"Café au Lait" is close to Antwerp's historical center. This charming cocktail bar brings together all sorts of people, and that's why I love it so much...

Inhale Soundsystem is a group of two guys who build their own soundsystem and now use it to organise events. And the sound they make is wonderful.
