How can I talk about this amazing neighborhood with a few words? I will try.
This place transformed around the same time I was born to just like me grow up - and at least the neighborhood - glow up. Many of the houses got redecorated, renewed, and refurbished. Many new (hipster) bars and restaurants popped up. It became more active, organizing events in our two main places, Dageraadplaats and Draakplaats. And so on.
For some of the places I wrote articles about so you can check them out, like Salt & Mint, and Gitanes.
But for the rest, you must discover and walk through this neighborhood. I recommend coming in the evening when the main squares become very vibrant. Amazing pubs to visit on Dageraadplaats are Het Zeezicht, Café Gorillaz and Bar Salon. And to eat May's, Humm - deliciously responsible, Orso Pizzeria and Aan Het Strand Van Oostende. There are many more interestening places I didn't get to mention but that's for you to discover. ;)
