This restaurant has saved me several times! It's the only place where you can find good quality food 24/7. Ciao Italia is a landmark of Athens for eating after a night out. At the early hours of the morning you will find youngsters having a pizza or pasta to dry out the alcohol but also old people enjoying their morning coffee with a croissant. That’s the time when the night meets the morning.
As the name suggests the cuisine is Italian. All pizzas are baked in a wood oven and they are rich in ingredients. There is a variety of pasta, salads and also pastries and desserts. I've never had anything that I didn’t like in this place.
I highly recommend trying pizza Florentin, the Ciao Italia salad and the mixed chocolate croissant for breakfast. You can sit there, order at home or takeaway.
The house is known for the two wonderful Caryatid sculptures located on the balcony of its facade. The house was built in the late 19th century and is a typical example of Athenian neoclassicism.
