If you have already visited Athens and followed my articles, you already know Feyrouz and their delicious pide and what we are talking about! Anyway, if you like sweets, please make yourself a favor: go to Feyrouz's new confectionery shop and taste the sweets Mrs Eleni is making for you.
Mrs Eleni Feyrouz comes from Antioch. With her sons, they just opened this amazing place just opposite their already famous lechmatzoun corner.
There you will have the chance to taste sweets from the East. The "stars" are the Künefe filled with cheese from Creta and served with a few drops of Eriki honey and the Kazandibi that is just amazing with its masticha flavor!
You can also taste their famous rice pudding, the Aşure ("Noah's Pudding") and their "Sekerpare" that are like biscuits served with small drops of cheese and are matched perfectly with a small cup of Arabic coffee with cardamom!
And if you are vegan, there you have the chance to enjoy the vegan version of "baklava".
Apart from the pleasure your tongue and your stomach will enjoy, another reason to visit Feyrouz's confectionery is the aesthetics of the place. The building was built in 1936 and when you enter it you feel calm because of the colors on the walls and the big window that allow you to enjoy the urban view on Karori Street.
It is happiness in a mouthful!
