Where the Betty Ford clinic in California is a rehab for alcohol addiction, Betty Ford’s in Barcelona is the opposite! The bar is based on Joaquin Costa, Raval. Definitely the perfect street for a bar crawl as there are so many good bars. However, every time my friends and I opt for the legendary bar crawl from bottom to top of that street, we basically end up in Betty Ford’s all night.
The bar has gained fame among the locals. When weekend plans are discussed, the question “Have you been to Betty Ford’s yet?” always comes up. And once you go, it will get you addicted!
The crowd in the bar is a fun mix of mainly locals and maybe a few foreigners. You will find the typical hipster Raval local here; creative, bohemian, laid back and quite often in company of a skate board. It’s a small bar, and it is always packed. So the bar is easily recognised from the outside. Because those who don’t fit inside, merely hang out on the street.
I have heard the burgers are amazing over there, soothing the late night cravings of many. I must confess I haven’t tried them yet, but I am sure I will soon. They also offer a nice selection of foreign beers and have a good cocktail menu.
Betty Ford’s has become one of those bars that has gotten me hooked; it’s almost always a guarantee for a fun night with my friends!
