In an area full of designer boutiques and concept stores, this old-school shop is quickly becoming my favorite one. This interest coincided with me buying a good ol' Singer sewing machine and reigniting my design passions. I guess most of us like people and places that inspire us – and Derma definitely has the power to whisper seductively into your ear and make you believe that, yes, you can make those leather shorts, and while at it, why wouldn't you redecorate around the house. BY YOURSELF.
The store looks like time has stopped back in the 60s, but in a good way. It is packed from the floor to the ceiling with studs, upholstery, leathers, chains, brushes, and, most of all, things I have no idea of what they are for, but they sure look very interesting.
The point is- even if you need something really bizarre for your DIY project, you are likely to find it here at a really fair price. And the inspiration- it comes for free.
