Belgrade is most famous for sitting on the confluence of two major European rivers — Sava and the Danube. While there are several parts of the city with access to the riverside, in my mind, the two most beautiful ones are Zemunski and Dorćolski kej. Being from Dorćol, naturally, I lean more towards the latter. :)
Dorćolski kej is a stretch of the riverside which is separated pretty well from the hustle of the city and its traffic. Easily accessed by the neighboring residential buildings, it is a favorite place for locals to go out in the Sun and walk down the river, enjoying the peace and quiet. It is one of the few places offering a refuge from the noises of Belgrade, and the views over the vast Danube towards distant Zemun are only made more beautiful if you catch a sunset here.
There's something for everyone here: green spaces, cafes, secluded benches, swans to feed, bike lanes to ride down, and even a sports center with indoor and outdoor pools. The riverside path ends at Beton hala, from where you can climb a footbridge to Kalemegdan.
