For those who don’t know, there are two major football clubs in Belgrade, Partizan and Crvena Zvezda (Red Star). They have been rivals since their foundation.
Just for fun imagine, that you are a Partizan supporter (their colors are black and white), and you walk through the streets of Dorćol. Well, you will be pleasantly surprised with the murals you see. On the picture I took there's the late Duško Radović, our great writer and journalist. During the ’70s and ’80s, his morning aphorisms during his work at Studio B radio would put a smile on our faces. And of course, he was a supporter of Partizan.
There are discussions among the citizens of Belgrade if this kind of expression is, or isn’t, art. For me there is no doubt; this is art, and good art at that. So if you come to Belgrade, it would be wise to use this open-space art gallery; you will learn who the greatest Partizan supporters were, you will have a great walk, and you will become familiar with a special part of Belgrade, Dorćol.
