Berlin has some of the best Turkish food in the world outside of Turkey. The largest population of Turkish people outside of the country live in Berlin, mainly populating the Wedding, Neukölln, and Kreuzberg neighborhoods. This is probably why Backery & Coffee, an inconspicuous Kreuzberg café near Moritzplatz has some of the best Turkish bread I've ever tasted.
Of course, Turkish food is amazing, but how much of it have you really tried?
Whether you're looking to expand your repertoire of Turkish food or you just want to find a consistently great neighborhood spot, Backery & Coffee is your place. They have a rotation of in-house made baked goods ranging from typical German bakery items to an array of Turkish ones including Lahmacun, Gözleme, Pide, Simit, Börek, and more. Get there within the first few hours of opening for their full selection, as you'll find most of their Turkish items gone by around 12:30/13h.
My favorite item they offer has to be their potato gözleme: it's a generous portion that's rich, flavorful, and both crispy and soft. Enjoy it warmed up in the café with a glass of Turkish tea for €1.50.

One word to describe Macondo? Bustling! It's not the place if you need a quiet space to work, but it's nice if you want to have it all: work, play, wine, and coffee.

Heisser Hobel stands out through their use of quality ingredients. Their dairy ingredients are collected from an organic family-run dairy farm, and their noodles are made in their stall throughout the day.

I suggest stopping by the Berlin Art Market by the Zeughaus to pick up a locally created art piece. Since the market is located in the center of Museum Island it's easy to reach.

Baked goods are made with ingredients made in-house or purchased from local suppliers. All food waste and single-use items (ie recycled compostable napkins) are turned into soil with their Gersi composting machine.
