If you are visiting "classic" sights on your trip here, sooner or later you will probably end up at the Berlin Wall Memorial around Bernauer Straße. When you have finished reading up on all the history and are a little like me, you might be in the mood for a hot drink and an afternoon snack. Allow me to suggest one of (in my opinion) best patisseries outside of Paris, Du Bonheur!
This is a small café just a couple minutes' walk from the U-Bahn station Bernauer Straße and the perfect place to treat yourself in the afternoon. You will be spoilt for choice with sweet cakes, macarons and brioches, which are always freshly baked and neatly arranged in the spacious display of the café. Cannelé Bordelais, Kouign Amann or a croissant? Whatever you go for, I assure you the calories are worth it - and you're walking around all day anyway, right?
