The Sanctuary is home to some truly delicious plant-based Italian baked goods. From focaccia to maritozzo to cornetto to girella: you have your pick of sweet and savoury Italian artisanal treats. I recommend you try something sweet and savory here. I am a big fan of their pistachio maritozzo which is a soft Roman bun filled with cream and topped with crushed pistachios. It's absolutely amazing, and not overwhelmingly sweet.
They typically have around five to seven types of focaccia available as well. I've tried a few types, and honestly, each has been better than the last for me: they're just all so good! I think if I had to pick one I'd go with their classic olive and tomato focaccia or perhaps their salsiccia variation.
This is an excellent spot to visit if you want to see just how far plant-based food has come in the last few years. They opened in October 2022, and are set to start plant-based workshops as well.
