Berlin can be a stressful city, and during the long, harsh winters, it’s sometimes hard to keep seasonal depression at bay. Luckily, there’s Vabali - the perfect cure for the winter blues. Vabali is a large spa complex located close to Berlin's central station, offering a much-needed escape from urban worries.
Upon entering, you’ll instantly feel transported to a tropical oasis. All city noises fade away as you're greeted by peaceful Buddha statues along a garden path leading to the main building. Inside, the tastefully decorated space spans across several rooms and floors, each an invitation to relax. The main area features a beautiful swimming pool at its center, surrounded by loungers. There are various saunas and relaxation rooms with comfy couches, a fireplace, and even waterbeds. Outside, the expansive garden includes more saunas, heated swimming pools, and plenty of places to unwind. Vabali offers a total of 4 pools and 13 saunas, each with its own unique rituals, all listed in the spa’s daily schedule.
If that wasn’t enough, massages and treatments are also available, and there’s a restaurant and café serving healthy, Asian-inspired food, snacks and drinks.
There are different passes available, ranging from 2-hour to full-day access. However, given the size of the space, a minimum of 4 hours is recommended. Whatever you choose, a visit to Vabali is sure to leave you feeling recharged and relaxed. I love coming here on particularly chilly days to warm up in the saunas and take a break from city life for a while.

What makes them even more special is their friendly nature. On most days, you might run into their owner Jonathan, the heart and soul of the café. SPRO would not shine the same way without his thoughtfulness.

They take the traditional döner in Berlin and transform it into a borderline art form. With flavorful sauces, meat, vegetables, spices, herbs, bread, and cheese, there's no wonder each bite tastes better than the last.

Heard of a croffle? What about an egg drop sandwich? Well, let me introduce you to your new favourite brunch food. Even if you've heard of these two before, you must try Puffle Bees.

For €2, you can enjoy their falafel, shawarma, or kafta wrap. Their falafel wrap can be fully plant-based, too, just let them know, so they omit some sauces. They're better off as a snack because they're a bit on the smaller side.
