Oriental food has always been my favourite. And Pitteria in the Länggasse neighborhood is definitely my go-to place for an amazing serving of falafel and hummus, even after having finished my studies at the university right next to it. All meals can be either ordered on a plate or in a pita bread topped with delicious home-made chutneys and sauces. The staff is well educated about allergies and food preferences, so Pitteria is a paradise for vegetarians, vegans and people who prefer a gluten-free diet. Everybody will find a dish they would love to taste.
The restaurant itself is nicely decorated in warm colours, the Arabic influence is perceptible. During the warm months, Pitteria also has an offshoot right in the middle of the city center, in the courtyard of the Progr cultural center. Since Pitteria offers famously savory meals, sometimes many people queue up here. But don’t worry, the guys preparing them are super quick and always in a good mood!
