Ethiopian food, what could that be? If you have no idea what people in the east of Africa are eating for dinner, then I have good news for you! Restaurant Injera serves amazingly delicious food from Ethiopia! If you want to try it out I recommend you order a meal to share with your friends, the traditional way in Ethiopia. And don’t worry, there sure will be enough for everybody.
Served on sourdough flatbread, you get many different vegetables, dhals, salads and other nicely flavoured specialities. Before you can start, the friendly staff will come to your table with a jug of warm water and a little bowl, so you can wash your hands before you enjoy your meal without cutlery. You can of course also use a fork and knife, but believe me, food just tastes so much better when eaten by hand!
I also really like their ginger tea. If you’re also into that spicy lemony root, you should give that one a go, too.
Injera is located in the Länggasse neighbourhood where the university of Bern has most of its faculties. So if you are a student, bring your student ID, during lunch you will get a nice discount.
