Somerville's Davis Square has many great restaurants, but DakZen is definitely at the top of my list - and at the top of many other people’s, judging by the packed tables every time I visit. This tiny little place is known for its bright yellow interior, quick service (streamlined by guests paying as they order and clearing their tables themselves), and Thai street noodles.
DakZen’s menu is far from huge, but every item is delicious. You have the option to double the toppings, proteins, noodles, veggies, or broth for any of the noodle soup. If you’re a carb-lover like me, I’d def recommend Double Noodles for pretty much any dish here in order to guarantee a full belly. The vegetarian and vegan options at DakZen are sparse, but tasty - the Tiew Pak is one of my all-time favorite meals. Don’t forget to order yourself an ice cold Thai Iced Tea while you’re here!
"Taco Party" in Boston has vegan tacos that are better than the meat ones. My favorite is the torta: spicy, filling, with a patty that's fun to chew on!
