As a vegetarian, I’m usually able to find at least one or two meal options at most restaurants in Boston. However, it’s pretty rare to find an all-vegan or vegetarian place around here, so I am always ecstatic when I get the chance to try one out! Some of them have been disappointing, but most have been delicious - Somerville’s True Bistro is definitely in the latter category.
True Bistro’s menu is completely plant-based, but I think even the most devout carnivore has to enjoy the variety of dishes they have to offer. From shepherd's pie to massaman curry to pasta, True Bistro has something for even the pickiest eater’s tastebuds! The star of the restaurant though, for me, is their weekend brunch: so many awesome dishes to choose from! Their seitan burgers are meaty and delicious, their crepes (served with lavender ice cream) are decadent as hell. Since the menu’s vegan, the “meat” dishes are guilt-free - seriously, the only bad thing about this place is deciding what to order!
