The newest addition to the suburb's coffee landscape is this bistro filled with true Italian spirit. Favor.it is owned by a local barista/gelato maker trained in Italy and her Italian husband - moved here from Italy precisely to create this kind of bistro.
It's situated in a quiet residential area and mostly visited by locals. The interior feels modern with an original touch of the owners' style - they've created almost everything themselves. As a local myself and an admirer of local history, I look especially fondly at the ceiling. The strange stickers with names connected by strings actually represent the family tree of the owners' Slovak family, which goes all the way back to the 1760s. Not surprisingly, some local residents can find their own family name included in the list.
Favor.it offers excellent gelato, extremely popular on weekends. You can try the classics such as lemon or red currant, but also specialities like Aperol, tiramisu or poppy seed. They also have lactose-free options.
When you get peckish, you must try their aperitivo with an assortment of antipasti, hams, olives, cheeses (delicious mozzarella bufala!), dried tomatoes, or excellent home-baked focaccia with prosciutto. Every now and then they also organize tasting evenings with professionals, focusing on coffee, wine, grappa, prosecco etc.
It's also one of only a few places where you can buy authentic Italian products such as wine and extra virgin olive oil.
Make sure to check their FB page and Instagram to check their mouth-watering posts.
