Taste a bit of Congo's dishes in the well-known little pearl of Au Soleil d'Afrique in the heart of Matongé (Brussels African quarter). You don't have a huge choice of dishes here, but that is the joy of it. At most restaurants, a smaller menu is usually a good sign, and Au Soleil d'Afrique doesn't disappoint! You need to try the fried fish, it's simple but finger-licking good. Every time I come by, I ask for the goat, they only have it very rarely, but it's a real delight!
Fried plantains, some rice, a bit of hot sauce and most important of all: great vibes. The place is a bit put together with duct tape, colourful paint, and lots of creativity. The server and cook are always in a great mood, and they recently even got a card machine (but don't hesitate to give them a small tip, they work hard for it and ask for very democratic prices).
Amazing place to sit outside if you want to get away a bit from the boogie Saint Boniface but are too lazy to walk too far from Fernand Coq, where you're meeting friends for a drink later, or Vendôme, where you're going to see the new movie come out this evening.

Sando is a nice nickname Japanese use for sandwiches. I love it! Sandwiches have a sauce more or less spicy and are filled with veggies and/or meat or tofu.
