Even though it's a little out of the route for most, Glacier Zizi is definitely worth the detour! Ice cream, waffles, crêpes, smoothies... Your pick!

Come at any point of the day and have a fresh drink, a burger, salad or chill and let your kids/dogs run in the park while you chat with your friends.

I haven't yet been able to identify all the villages/churches marked on the small stone wall but I'm sure I will at some point!

The Parvis de St Gilles market on Thursdays is the place to be! They have many stands, but my favorite is the Thai/Laos traiteur Bounthong Luangsouphom.

The Perché rooftop bar is on top of the JAM hotel, which is why not many people wander up here, but it's so worth it! It has a great view and comfy chairs.

A beautiful gothic view with some modernist buildings in the front, fresh tap beer, and delicious Belgian fries? The Château Moderne has it all.

At España Calidade they hang around twenty types of dried ham on big hooks around the store, in between the huge paella pans and spicy peppers.

About me
I'm a big advocate for a rounded approach to life, meaning that I want to see the different sides of a process to understand the final product better. This is why I work in event planning for large European events, I volunteer as a catering manager at TEDxBrussels and constantly explore the city in my free time. I do all this because I'm a huge Brussels fan and I want to know each and every face this city has to offer, the local student bars in Ixelles, the open mic clubs in the center, and the institutional conferences taking place... I'm lucky that I have the opportunity to see the city from many sides and that I can choose which ones I interact with. I haven't found my own bubble just yet, but am enjoying dipping in and out of various communities and experiences because in Brussels anyone can feel like a part of a group!
Why Brussels?
My passion in one word is multilingualism. So what better place to live in than Brussels? The border of the Germanic and Latin languages in Europe. The place where students, locals, eurocrats, internationals, and all types of immigrants meet. I love the diversity of Brussels, which is not defined by nationality but by your attitude to life. Many Bruxeloises or Brusseleirs identify themselves with the city despite all these differences in languages, backgrounds, or even walks of life. I didn't plan to stay here but I have fallen in love with this city and I don't think I'll ever leave.
