When the weather starts to be warm and nice, there is no better place to spend a chill Sunday afternoon at one of the many brocantes (second-hand markets) that are organized in Brussels. The brocante in Chatelaine is one of the best, so I headed there with a friend, looking for some cool vintage pieces and other potential bargainings. Vintage hunting got us hungry, so we looked for a nice place for a quick but tasty lunch. Located in Rue Bailli, in the hearth of Chatelaine, Roru, with its white and red sign, caught our attention, and once we saw it had sushi rolls and rice bowls, there were no more discussions to stop there for lunch.
Roru, which stands for “Rolls” in Japanese, welcomes you with its shiny red-painted walls and floors, Japanese prints, and minimalist decor that prepares you for an interesting experience. On the menu, the highlights are the maki in different combinations. But you can also find Pokè, but with Japanese ingredients, plates to share such as shrimp tempura, and dishes with curry don, and gyu don.
With my friend, we shared a portion of gyozas (delicious), and then I tried the salmon ponzu poke don with crushed peanuts and coriander (yes, I loved it). Everything was tasty and well-seasoned, and it left us with a desire to come back soon! They are open every day of the week until 10 pm. A good spot to keep in mind when looking for a meal with a fair price.

You order a bouillon, which can have different bases, meat or veggie options. Add the sauces, what you would like to eat and then the magic happens.
