Close to the Forêt de Soignes, Rouge-Cloître is a natural reserve where you can easily spend a whole day relaxing and exploring. It is a beautiful, historical place comprising a huge park, several playgrounds, a lake, an exhibition center, an old priory, a café, a small farm…
The views are amazing, the fauna and flora are exceptional and it is so big that it never feels crowded, even on summer days when people converge to this oasis. The old priory was recently renovated and provides drinks and light food with a nice view of the grounds. Throughout the day, you will encounter families, fishermen, walkers, nature photographers, and artists, some of whom have on-site workshops that are open to the public.
I recommend going there on foot or at least parking off-site, as the parking area is quite small. Bear in mind that the access road is paved, which may be difficult for pushchairs and bicycles. Rouge-Cloître is a green paradise that feels like a little piece of countryside in the city.
