I love museums where I can touch and experience the things they're trying to show. At the Museum of Urban Transport Brussels (at the stop 'Tram Museum') you can do just that! It's a little tricky because the museum is only open on weekends or special occasions. This is the case because you can go on historic rides with old trams, some even offer food on board for the full experience.
It is a little bit away from the center but has a gorgeous park close to it and the way there is already worth the trip. To experience it to its fullest you should get on the 39 or 44 tram at Montgomery and ride it until 'tram museum/musée du tram'. It's only 5 stops but it gives you the impression of going from a big city to the countryside in just a few minutes.
Once you get there you can spend hours walking around the trams, getting in and imagining how people rode these in previous centuries. Don't forget to pass by the shop, they have some nice goodies to take home!
