Ignác a Nyúl, or in English, Ignác the Rabbit, is located in a reviving part of Budapest. With its truly charming personality, the place has easily clinched its spot as one of my favourite go-to places in the city whenever I crave a cozy café or bar ambiance. And I believe the many regulars testify that it is really a place where people keep coming back once they sense its warmth.

In my experience, most board game bars tend to focus less on other details of the venue apart from the great variety of games. At Ignác, however, along with its gallery, the well-thought touches and thoroughly selected, often local products co-live nicely with each other, creating a welcoming, charming little space for everyone.

In colder times, they cook delicious chai latte for the guests, and as the weather gets warmer, they put out a little terrace in front of the place where you can enjoy a good ‘birsfröccs’ or some other refreshing drinks.

As for the board games, several of them are in English or are compatible with any language, and the bartenders are happy to help the guests by explaining them to you when they have the time. The people working there are strongly involved in a known board game project and collective that you can encounter at several cultural events and festivals in Hungary called ‘Játszóház’.
