Not so long ago but seems like forever - for COVID reasons - was my quick visit to Tabla Luna. This South American restaurant is located amid the leafy streets of Maadi. You don't really need to be an expert in Latin cuisine to wrap your head around what you want to eat - almost everything looks and smells really is appetizing.
We were two adults having lunch and ordering three plates was more than fulfilling. Fish tacos were the appetizer of choice, while for the main dishes the Confused Argentian (sweet potato gnocchi) and the Arroz Con Mariscos (seafood rice dish) highlighted the table. The staff is beyond helpful as the menu was not very easy to understand and the pace of bringing food to the table and the timing between each dish was well calculated. This spot is ideal for non-smokers as they have a zero-tolerance policy towards smoking indoors. However, you can just head outside the ground-floor restaurant and come back without feeling the hassle.
The spontaneous stop reminded me that I had visited Tabla Luna before almost three years ago and I could not grasp the idea that they'd kept the same quality of food and general excellence.
After the curfew is removed gradually, I intend to re-visit soon and encourage everyone to do so as well.
