I've been going to La Creperie on Clark since I was a kid and it has never disappointed me. Open since the 1970s, it is a romantic, delicious French restaurant serving up the freshest crepes around. This staple French bistro in the city has a menu divided by your choice of savory or sweet crepes. I'd recommend going with both and splitting the two with a friend or date.
The inside is dim (as I said, it's a romantic spot), but not too dark as there's a lot of natural light that spills into the room during the daytime. The decor of vintage French posters pairs nicely with a cappuccino or French wine to wash down your meal. I think the best secret of this restaurant and why it's worth visiting, however, is their back patio, which has a little fountain in the center and is surrounded by lots of greenery.
If crepes aren't your thing, not to worry. They have other decadent French treats like an oh-so cheesy French onion soup, rich escargot, or a croque madame (a grilled ham and cheese sandwich with a sunny side up egg on top served with crispy French fries).
Seriously, don't miss out on La Creperie, which makes a dinner out feel like an exotic, cozy, delicious event no matter who you're with.
