Chinatown is undoubtedly the best place for Chinese food and it is hardly worth it for me to attempt to go anywhere else. However, as a current resident of Chicago’s Lincoln Park neighborhood, I decided to risk trying Royal Highness Zhu, a newer restaurant in the area.
I celebrated the Lunar New Year with a friend here over dinner and was very satisfied with the experience! We ordered a hotpot of spicy broth, thick glass noodles, sesame balls, sweet glutenous rice balls, and dumplings.
All of it was delicious, though my favorite was the dumplings. My only complaint is the portion sizes did not quite match the prices, though the restaurant is in Lincoln Park, to be fair.
There were so many appetizing options to choose from that I definitely will be coming back to try more! Customers can browse their online menu for a complete description of each item and a much-appreciated history of each dish’s origin.
