The Sixth is an unassuming bar with great cocktails. It's located just east of the Lincoln Square neighborhood, so there is plenty in walking distance. The Sixth itself is located on a part of Lawrence Avenue which is busy with cars and not pedestrians, so The Sixth can be easy to miss.
It is next to Root's Pizza (check out the article) so this one-two punch allows you to make this part of Lawrence Ave a fun night of dinner and cocktails. The Sixth's cocktails are unique and strong which allows you to be adventurous but not afraid to take your time with your drink. The bartenders are friendly and willing to talk you through how your taste matches up with the menu. Their winter cocktail menu is currently out. The cocktails come in festive glasses. The winter cocktails marry spirits with interesting spices that include spiced pear and cinnamon bitters.
The ambiance is great for a date or a night out with friends.
