For decades, Lincoln Tap Room has been serving Steelers fans and the general public incredible drink specials. This no-frills, funky space is recognizable on bustling Lincoln Avenue for its retro facade that almost looks like an old-timey liquor store.
When you walk inside, you'll notice how long the room is, followed by the red lights illuminating the bar stools, couches, wall murals, and pool table. Whenever I go, I enjoy situating myself in the back corner and taking the space in. As I mentioned, this dive's drink specials are unparalleled. If you happen to be visiting on a Tuesday, every drink is half off. On certain weekdays, they offer free pool, which is hard to find in the city these days.
You may want to avoid this spot if you are not a Steelers fan, as football game days bring folks together in "Steelers Country." If you are a fan of this football team, then you'll feel right at home!
Whether you want to take shelter on a chilly Chicago night, catch up with friends, or watch football, Lincoln Tap Room hits just right. I also have to give a shout-out to their friendly bar staff. Every time I've visited, I have felt welcomed in the cozy space. Make sure you say hi to the Hamms bear statue hovering over the door on your way out.
