What looks like an ordinary corner bookshop from the outside is in fact the equivalent of Aladdin's cave of wonders. When you first enter Buchhandlung Walther König (literally 'the bookstore of Walther König'), all you see is a single room, already well filled with beautiful coffee-table books.
Then, perhaps, you will notice a narrow passage leading to a table covered with books, surrounded by shelves full of books, all surrounded by terraces with more shelves and more books! And that's not all: a book-lined staircase will take you to a floor with even more books! Books about painters, books about architecture, books about textiles, books about cars and even books about libraries.
As you can see, Walther König's bookshop is full of interesting and fascinating books. And the shop assistants really do give you time to explore the books and get a feel for them. Last but not least, you will find many books in English in this extraordinary bookshop.
