Come in – le chien est gentil! Chien Gentil ("the good dog") is the name of Anna's beautiful concept store, nestled in the heart of the artsy Körnerstraße. The shop offers a carefully curated selection of beautiful creations – prints, ceramics, handmade accessories, jewelry – alongside a fine selection of non-alcoholic beverages. What makes Chien Gentil even more special is its focus on showcasing products made almost exclusively by female or queer creators, a unifying theme that ties the store's range together.
The inspiration for the store’s name came to Anna during her travels through France. She noticed that many yard gates didn’t warn about dangerous dogs but instead highlighted the friendly ones. This positive attitude eventually motivated Anna to name the shop Chien Gentil.
I first met Anna at a print workshop, where she was designing tote bags with the adorable logo dog. These pretty bags are available for purchase in the store. The next time I visit Körnerstraße, I would love to buy one of the store’s exquisite pottery mugs. Time and again, I’ve found myself gazing through the shop window, imagining how comfy it would be to cozy up with a cup of tea from one of these mugs.
