"Manufactum" is a shop that all of my friends love, from designers, architects, to lawyers and teachers. Well, they all have to have something in common besides having me as a friend. Perhaps it's a similar taste for aesthetics; for classic, timeless and functional pieces of design.
Manufactum's products are mostly natural and give you the impression they're made in little craftsman-shops; made out of classic materials such as glass, wood and metal, which are repairable and therefore sustainable. The range of products include culinary items, stationery supplies, organic cosmetics but also durable or fresh groceries which you can get from their own bakery, their cheese or meat counter.
Due to the high quality the prices are a bit higher than average and we all can't shop there as regularly as we would love to. But quality comes with a price, which is good, because all the products I got so far from "Manufactum" are collector's items that I've been keeping for years.
Their own café "Brot und Butter" (bread and butter) offers specialities such as cakes and sandwiches, which can be enjoyed on the spot or purchased for takeaway. They also serve great coffee, different kinds of tea or refreshing French lemonade from la Martuacienne.
