Do you love music? Do you play an instrument? Or are you even in a band? So why not visit the biggest music store in Europe which is located in Cologne? Its name is Music Store! :-)
You might think now: hey, I am on holiday, I don’t want to carry an instrument around…
BUT maybe you wanna test one?
Let’s say you are interested in guitars. The Music Store doesn’t have four or five - they have them all! And they have testrooms! And they have employees who are all musicians themselves. And they are all friendly and experts! And they have a cafeteria!
Once again in peace – the music store is grouped in sections: guitars, drums, keyboard instruments, brass... sheet music, amplifiers and pro audio, lighting, PCs and even DJing...
In every section you can get advice from one of the pros from the staff and try out all instruments in testrooms. The selection is really impressive. They even have a separate room just full of ‘cajons’ (the orange crate-like wooden drum). It’s a little bit off the beaten track, but public transport will get you there in 20 minutes. I could spend a whole day there, so luckily the music store also has a bistro.
Take your time and be inspired... and even if you don’t buy a new drumset that day, I’ve never left the music store without a little useful thing or a new idea...
