The Schlosspark is once again a spot on the water - right on the Rhine.
It is a nice quiet park, but a bit out of town. Therefore perhaps it's best reached by Nextbike.
Outside the city, which can still be seen from the shore in the distance, it is also away from the bustle and noise of the city.
That's why I enjoy this spot. It is an oasis. An oasis of peace and art.
Even at the entrance I already like the two stone lions, because it is an old castle park.
The park was created by an aristocratic family between 1828-1832 in the style of an English garden. Wide paths and alleys leading to the castle were built and 600 trees and 500 shrubs were planted. That means the plants in the park are almost 190 years old. Unfortunately, the castle no longer exists.
I like to come here for a walk on the weekend or even after work. And I enjoy not only the peace there, but mostly the annually changing installations of contemporary modern art.
Since 2002, the works of art always change on Whitsun. Some are also permanent installations.
I like to go back and forth and always discover something new. I especially like the artworks in connection with the trees or the park or with the river in the background.
So if you need a come-down and you want to enjoy stimulating art, then go for a walk in the Schlosspark Stammheim.
