Finally, I rewrite about my old friend, the restaurant Tutten in the old harbor in Sydhavn, Copenhagen.
It’s been a while since I lived in this area, but now I’m finally back and I knew exactly where to go first.
The reunion couldn’t have gone any better, either. The menu was of course crispy pork with thick parsley sauce and potatoes, followed up with homemade apple cake for dessert. In addition, a couple of Carlsberg beers and there you have it guys… This is as Danish as it gets!
You will find a lot of places for traditional Danish food in Copenhagen, but nothing beats this experience in my opinion. Tutten has it all – home-cooked meals, old sailors hanging out, nice and quiet times and with a view over the water.
Take a walk in my neighborhood, the old allotment gardens of Sydhavn and after a good long walk, you should absolutely finish off a good solid meal. Wash it down with a couple of Danish beers and a few snaps (or schnapps).
Tuttens story goes back to 1966 and it’s a true hidden local gem, if you ask me.
If you don’t know what to get, just ask at the counter.
