Killiney Hill is, along with the Howth Cliff walk, one of the best destinations you could pick when looking for a not-so-tiring hike in Dublin.
Killiney Hill is located in Dalkey, a seaside suburb in the south of Dublin. There are many options to get there - the best and quickest option is taking the Dart, which would take around 30 minutes. It is also possible to take a bus from the city center and a car ride would take around 40 minutes.
Dalkey is in itself a delightful village to explore, with many nice restaurants and shops. It would take around 20 minutes to get to Killiney Hill park from the Dart station, but even the walk there offers breathtaking views of the sea.
The Killiney Hill walk is not a hard one to do and could be enjoyed by anyone, from adults to children to pets. There are different things to see through the walk, like the Wishing Stone (a pyramid situated on top of the hill) or the Obelisk which has stood there since 1742.
The last time I did the hike it was on a cloudy day with subtle rain, but this was not a bother for me as it could still be enjoyed just the same. In fact, the number of trees around the path will protect you from the rain (very handy in Dublin's unpredictable weather).
I would recommend doing the walk early and saving some time after to have lunch in Dalkey and explore the village.
