Are you, like myself, a big seaside fan? Especially when the sun is coming out here and there in winter, it is particularly nice in Sandymount area of Dublin Bay. I love having a walk or a run during lunchtime or after work, breathing in some sea aroma. I do not think I have been anywhere else where you could get to a beach so quickly from the city center, especially in a capital. If you want to have it a little more isolated - I recommend a long walk to Poolbeg Lighthouse. Sandymount is more accessible if you are in town and want a little break by the sea, with quick access to the transportation to go back to your busy day.
I would stroll along the coast or go for a walk to Sean Moore Park. Sean Moore Park, which is situated right next to the beach, is a relatively small park in the city part of the Dublin Bay, usually popular among locals to run, walk their dogs or have a picnic in summer. Did you know that there are plenty of birds coming to Ireland from the North Pole to spend their winter here? I discovered at least two of those kinds - Brent Geese and Sanderling on the beach of the park! If you happen to be in Dublin town and want to see the sea within a short walking distance - come here, at any time of the year!
