Caoba Edinburgh

Mexican handicrafts

""Caoba" in Edinburgh is a gift shop like no other and a true joy to visit! I always look forward to looking around, as it's just stuffed with uinque items."

Caoba is a gift shop like no other and a true joy to visit. I always look forward to looking around as it is the kind of shop that is absolutely stuffed with such interesting and unique items that every corner needs to be explored.

It is a family run business located at the heart of the cool Stockbridge neighbourhood. They specialise in handmade and fair trade goods from Mexico and are passionate about supporting small, family-run businesses that produce traditional handiwork pieces. Stepping inside you’re immediately met with the colour and vibrancy that characterises so much of Mexican art and design -- from the papel picado bunting that hang from the ceiling to the painted ceramic tiles and Saltillo blankets.

As well as these, they also offer a wide range of greetings cards, houseplants, candles, jewellery, hot sauce and much more. There really is something for everyone here. A visit to Caoba is an experience in itself and one not to be missed out on!

Inverleith Park

Green space and games

"Inverleith Park" is kind of a mirror-image of the Edinburgh Royal Botanic Gardens: one is lauded for its unusual trees, the other for its wide-open spaces
