Six by Nico is a genius marketing concept: six courses of Michelin-quality food based around a theme (we've had Willie Wonka, The Middle East, The 1970s, The chippy etc) with no choices (although you can sub in a vegetarian option) for six weeks for a fixed price of £28 at any time of day. No cheap lunches, no bloated dinners, just the same quality, all day every day, for six weeks.
And then it starts afresh. And so you go back to 'collect' the next theme. Seriously that's what people do, that's where the genius lies.
The food is glorious, although small portions they add up to a fulfilling meal. You can wine flight it for £25 more or just buy your own. We did our own.
Last week's Sicilian treat was awesome...
Aranancini Tricolore - three different delicious, but tiny, arancinis set out like the Italian flag. Gorgeous.
Melanzania - a lovely bed of aubergine with home-made ricotta and pesto.
Bistecca di Tonno. Lightly seared Tuna. To die for. The loveliest tuna I had ever tasted.
Papardelle with Beef Cheek. A gorgeous small pasta dish.
Pork fileto de maiale - main course with a decent amount of delicious pork.
Sicilian Lemon Tart, Whipped Creme Fraiche, Candied Rosemary.
Absolutely to die for. Every last mouthful.
There's one (the mothership) in Glasgow too and I can assure you that is every bit as good.
And you can watch the chefs at work as the pass has a live video screening.
Bravo!
