If you are sick of Florence's city center and want to relax a bit away from the crowded streets, you can visit the neighborhood of Piazza della Libertà. In this square you can have a walk or sit in a bench between the two arches and guess which one was built as a door to protect Florence!
You should also have a break and stop at Caffè Lietta. This delicious spot is under the covered walkaway on the center side. It opened last January and I usually spend a lot of time there. It is sometimes crowded, but relaxing indeed. Taste a piece of their delicious cakes made in their own workshop. Really high quality pastry-making.
And if you need a bunch of flowers you can find them inside because there is a green part inside.
Watch out! Caffè Lietta closes at 21:00, so if you want to stay in that area I suggest you cross the square and watch a movie at Istituto Stensen, have a drink at Libreria Alzaia or have dinner at Fastsud!
