Let's set the scene: You are wandering with your friends around Piazza Ferrucci on a Thursday night, but nothing interesting seems to be open... You have two options: go home and play the PS, or drink one of the best and original cocktails of your life. Well, if you choose the second option, just turn left onto Via Ser Ventura Monachi, and try to spot the club.
Surf Ventura is very hard to notice and every time I go there I have to look at every door to find the right one! (To help you out, I'll tell you that it's a big iron door with a porthole!) When you ring the doorbell someone will come to ask for the membership card, and I highly recommend you get one by filling out a form they give you, or you can't enter! Once you are downstairs you'll see that space is limited, but loud chatter and sparkly colours stimulate your senses, the walls are all covered with pictures of smiling people and notes written by the patrons over the years. It's nothing fancy, nor complicated, and totally Florence-style, easy and genuine.
Once you sit at the table Mauro the owner (the man and the legend), will sit with you, asking for your preferences, and literally draw your cocktail formulating it based on your taste. Every drink has the same price, but do not even dare to ask for just water! It's more than a drink, it's a real experience!
