A very nice spot to combine a Saturday afternoon shopping with a Saturday afternoon is "Kaffee und Kuchen" (coffee and cake). It is just across the street from one of my favorite places in Frankfurt – the old opera ("Alte Oper").
My recommendation is the "Käse-Mohn-Kuchen" (cheese cake with poppy seeds) or, if you don't like cakes, the apparently homemade "Sauerteigbrot" (sourdough) sandwich with ham or cheese! Inside next to the bar is the "Manufactum" shop with lots of expensive and high-end quality things for your household where you can buy everything you won't need at all, but it looks soooo nice!
Even if you don't have the intention to buy something for your home, go inside and get yourself lost in the colorful world of: potato peeler, pepper mill, rubber boots, perfume and teapots. You will definitely be tempted to buy another dust catcher for a small fortune!
