Hidden amidst Frankfurt's tall skyscrapers on a green strip, the incredibly charming café and bar "Fein Frankfurt" appears somewhat unexpectedly. It is located a few minutes away from the buzzling downtown streets, but I regularly enjoy this little outside spot with my friends for an afterwork cocktail with a candlelit atmosphere in the summers.
The seats, couches and chairs are all different and seem to be thrown together randomly on the green strip and the pathway. The little tables and the Bar Booth itself is however decorated with so much attention and love to detail, that it gives the outside bar a cosy yet elegant ambience.
Most importantly: this kind of bar is a part of Frankfurt's culture. The classic Kiosks - also called Trinkhalle or Wasserhäuschen - were booths to just grab a drink or cigarette and then to casually stand, meet and mingle in front of them. Fein Frankfurt is now an excellent example for the modern yet old-school use of the kiosk, with a remarkable attention to detail.
