Galerie Hake is a beautiful concept store in Bockenheim, combining frames and pictures with food and drinks in a very small but cosy space. Coming from the main street, you’ll need to walk through a little alleyway towards the building at the end. Once you enter the little store, you can buy pictures frames, have them repaired or even tailor-made, before you sit down for a little lunch, coffee or breakfast session. The daily-changing menu makes it especially popular with the nearby located office staff during lunch times, so it gets very crowded and not too comfortable. Now during the summer times you can sit outside in the alleyway and catch some sun.
I recommend you to come in for some breakfast on Saturdays: their options include French, Spanish but most importantly the local “Bockenheim” breakfast with bread rolls, egg, cereals and loads of cheese. It’s difficult to make reservations, so just make sure to be there at 10:00 to catch one of the few seats outside.
