If you, just as I do, believe that you should have your own monumental statue to praise no-one less than YOU, well, then you're absolutely right! You deserve it!
And it's easier to have it than you think. Close to historical Gerbermühle, a comfortable and very beautiful walk away from downtown Frankfurt along the Main River, you'll find what you have always deserved: the sandstone pedestal of your own statue! Just climb up the three steps on the backside of the stone socle and pose!
This fun little monument was conceived and designed by the Frankfurt artist Hans Traxler and it was constructed in 2005 with the sole purpose to give people the chance to stand and pose for their moment of fame. The word ICH, simply I, engraved on the base stone, reveals to everyone who it is that's standing up there.
I certainly like the humor of the monument and often enjoy watching other people when they first find it, then understand the idea and finally start posing for strangers and friends and for photos.
It's fun and feels so good to be a real monument!
So take a walk, climb the steps and be ICH!
