Mosebach is one of my favorite restaurant discoveries of 2017. The family-run restaurant has been around since 1989 and serves local Hessian food like Schnitzel, Green Sauce, German dumplings and our beloved apple wine. Whenever friends visit me from abroad, I recommend this place for the local cuisine at affordable prices, but especially for the local experience; Mosebach is located in a residential area, unlike most other Hessian food restaurants, which are in Sachsenhausen.
During the spring and summer season you can sit outside in the green backyard, which is basically the backyard of the people that live in the same building. They love to wave at you or start a conversation, therefore making it a very local experience. Also, be prepared to share benches and tables with other people, if you're outside. During the colder months and rainy days, take a seat at the wooden tables inside and appreciate the wild boar heads on the wall while you wait for your food.
