What if I told you that a restaurant exists without a menu card? Yes, this is how confident the folks at Le Dhaba are! They change their menu every day just because of the sheer number of dishes that they can prepare – thanks to their place of origin – India. You see, in India there are as many cuisines as languages, and they have more than 400. This unique diversity of the land is reflected in the diversity of the food itself.

Coming back to the restaurant, they offer “thali” which loosely translates into “plate”. This is a reference to the way they present the meal – a plate on which 3-4 small servings of side dishes are served alongside Rice / Naan (Indian bread).  They have also managed to set up the ambience true to the Indian roadside Dhaba (Highway-side eatery where long haul truck drivers rest and eat).

The place is run by a couple of Indians who opened up the restaurant just before the Covid-19 pandemic had hit the world globally – still going strong. I have had the pleasure to speak to one of the owners personally, and I had indicated my preference for more plant-based options, which they offer now.

If you are in town and craving some Indian food while not having to bother choosing from the menu, you know where to go! If you tell them that you read about them on Spotted by Locals, they might have a special gift for you.
